Davido to be inducted into Black Music Walk Of Fame

Afrobeat Artist Davido Inducted into 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame

Atlanta, GA — Afrobeat artist David Adeleke, known as Davido, has been announced as an inductee for the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame. The recognition was revealed ahead of an official induction ceremony scheduled for June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside.

Davido joins other notable figures in this year’s class, including rapper Ludacris, gospel singer Paul Morton, and former Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson. This honor places him alongside influential entertainers who have made significant contributions to Black culture and global music.

The Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame was established by the Black American Music Association and the Georgia Entertainment Caucus. It serves to honor individuals who have shaped Black entertainment and music. Inductees receive plaques that are placed along the walkway in Atlanta, marking their impact on Black culture.

This recognition coincides with Davido’s celebration of 15 years in the music industry. In a recent post on X, formerly Twitter, he reflected on his career, stating, “God is the best of all planners! 15 years in da game.”

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Davido began his professional music career in 2011 while working on his debut studio album, “Omo Baba Olowo.” He first made his mark as a member of the group KB International, achieving widespread fame with the release of “Dami Duro,” the second single from his debut album in 2012.

Over the past 15 years, Davido has released five studio albums: “Omo Baba Olowo” (2012), “A Good Time” (2019), “A Better Time” (2020), “Timeless” (2023), and “5ive” (2025). He has garnered numerous global nominations and awards, including three nominations at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in 2024, among them Best Global Music Album for “Timeless.”

This inductee class further solidifies Davido’s contribution to the music industry, following in the footsteps of earlier recognized artists such as Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.
