Delta State Police Arrest Two Suspected Cultists in Ibusa

IBUSA, Delta State — Operatives from the Delta State Police Command’s Anti-Cultism Unit (CACU) arrested two suspected cultists in the Ibusa community of Oshimili North Local Government Area on June 19, 2026, at approximately 11:45 p.m.

The arrests followed a coordinated operation at a suspected criminal hideout, based on credible intelligence, according to Delta State Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe.

“The operation led to the apprehension of two individuals identified as Okonkwo Prosper, 26, and Tuesday Emmanuel, 25, both from Aniofu, Aniocha North Local Government Area,” Edafe stated in a press release on Sunday.

During the operation, police recovered an English pump-action gun loaded with five live cartridges, a cutlass, charms, and substances believed to be illicit drugs.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are alleged members of a cult group involved in multiple violent clashes in Ibusa and surrounding areas. The suspects are currently in police custody, and efforts are underway to apprehend additional members of the group who remain at large.
