EPL: Michael Owen snubs Man City, predicts teams to finish top 5, bottom 3

Former Manchester United forward Michael Owen has predicted that Arsenal will clinch the Premier League title this season. Owen shared his forecasts for the league’s top five teams and the three clubs likely to face relegation.

The Premier League season commenced on Friday, with Arsenal defeating Coventry City 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium. In a post on social media platform X, the former England international expressed confidence that the Gunners will defend their title successfully.

Owen anticipates Chelsea will finish in second place, followed by Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur to round out the top five.

He also provided insights into the teams he believes will be relegated, naming Fulham, newly promoted Ipswich Town, and Hull City as those likely to drop out of the league.

“Top Five: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs. Bottom Three: Fulham, Ipswich Town, Hull City,” he wrote. He added a note, inviting reactions to his predictions.

Owen notably excluded Manchester City from his top-five forecasts. The reigning champions are in a state of transition after parting ways with their long-time manager Pep Guardiola following the 2025-26 season. Enzo Maresca will take charge of the team for the upcoming campaign.

The predictions suggest a potential resurgence for both Chelsea and Tottenham, who struggled during the previous season. Chelsea finished in 10th place, while Tottenham narrowly avoided relegation, ending the season in 17th place.
