EPL: ‘Very strong, hard to play against’ – Bruno Fernandes names club every team should respect

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has recognized Arsenal’s significant achievement in winning the Premier League title for the 2025-26 season. This victory marks the conclusion of a 22-year title drought for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

After a lackluster finish in the 2024-25 season, where they placed 16th, Manchester United rebounded in the 2025-26 campaign, securing third place in the league. This performance also enabled them to qualify for the UEFA Champions League after a year-long absence.

In addition to their league success, Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, came close to winning their first UEFA Champions League title. The team took a lead against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in the final but ultimately fell short, losing in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw after extra time.

Fernandes commended Arsenal for their exceptional performance throughout the season. “Arsenal were incredible last season. They were very strong and challenging to compete against; not only in the Premier League, but they also reached the Champions League final. They have earned all the respect, and the entire Premier League should acknowledge that,” he stated.

Arsenal last lifted the Premier League trophy in 2004 under manager Arsène Wenger, completing that season unbeaten in a feat that earned the team the nickname “The Invincibles.” Two years later, they reached their first UEFA Champions League final, where they relinquished the lead and lost 2-1 to Barcelona.
