EPL: Why Man Utd lost 2-0 to Hull City – Carrick

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick acknowledged that Hull City’s early goal posed a significant challenge for his team in their Premier League opener on Saturday. Hull City defeated Manchester United 2-0 in the early match, marking an impressive return to the top flight for the home side.
Semi Ajayi and Nobel Mendy scored the goals for Hull City, contributing to a spirited performance at home.
In his post-match remarks, Carrick noted the difficulties of falling behind in a match. “It was never going to be perfect, but going behind and giving ourselves a lot to do makes it more difficult,” he said.
He further elaborated on the challenges of facing a newly-promoted team at home. “You can’t give them much; they’ve got a lot to hold on to,” Carrick stated.
Although his team created several opportunities during the game, Carrick expressed disappointment that they lacked the finishing touch to convert their chances. “We’re bitterly disappointed with the result, but we won’t let it knock us,” he added.
