Excitement trails elimination of world most wanted terrorist in Nigeria

U.S. and Nigerian Forces Eliminate Key ISIS Leader in Nigeria

Reactions have emerged following the announcement of the death of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, identified as the world’s most active terrorist, by President Donald Trump.

In a post on Truth Social on Saturday morning, Trump confirmed that al-Minuki was killed on Friday night during joint operations conducted by American forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces. This operation was reportedly directed by the U.S. president.

Trump described al-Minuki as second-in-command of ISIS globally, noting that he had been a significant threat to security across Africa.

In response, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) mobilization platform, ADC Vanguard, posted on X, emphasizing that the Nigerian Army is capable of addressing security challenges when adequately supported. The organization stated, “This is the kind of news that should remind every Nigerian that our military, when properly supported, equipped, coordinated, and backed with solid intelligence, can deliver results that shake even global terror networks.”

Additionally, Ayekooto Akindele, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed his relief on Facebook, highlighting the significance of the operation. He remarked, “ISIS number 2 man in the World has been living in Nigeria. He has just been killed by U.S./Nigerian forces. Say no to terrorism.”

However, some voices on social media questioned why Nigerian law enforcement had not previously identified al-Minuki’s presence in the country. A user with the handle @Millishield01 raised concerns, asking, “Does it mean no Nigerian law enforcement agencies know this top terrorist was hiding in Nigeria?”

The operation marks a notable moment in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the region.
