Fatal Road Accident Claims Seven Lives in Jigawa State
JIGAWA STATE, Nigeria — A tragic road accident on the Malam Madori–Hadejia Road has resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including the driver of a vehicle carrying the Chairman of Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, who sustained injuries.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on May 18, 2026, at the Kashin Dila Junction. Police sources reported that the crash involved a Toyota Starlet and a black Mercedes-Benz GLK.
The Toyota Starlet, driven by Adamu Dakido, was transporting passengers from Hadejia to Malam Madori when it collided with the GLK, which was carrying the council chairman and his driver returning from Gumel to Kafin Hausa.
All six passengers in the Toyota Starlet were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the GLK vehicle also died immediately. The chairman was reported to have sustained varying degrees of injuries.
A patrol team from the Nigeria Police Force responded promptly to the scene. The injured victim and the deceased were transported to the General Hospital in Hadejia for further action.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
