Jigawa govt announces funeral arrangements for late Gumel Emir
The Jigawa State Government has announced that the funeral prayer for the late Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, is scheduled for 5 p.m. today, September 3, 2026, at the Emir’s Palace in Gumel.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government and distributed to the media.
Alhaji Sani, who had been receiving medical treatment in Cairo, Egypt, passed away on Thursday afternoon, according to reports from the state government.
The funeral prayer will be conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, as outlined by the state’s officials. The government has invited members of the public to attend the service and pay their respects. Additionally, it urged Imams of Jumu’ah mosques throughout Jigawa State to offer special prayers for the deceased Emir.
