NDLEA nabs 58-year-old grandfather, 8 others for drugs trafficking
Edo State Command Arrests Nine in Drug Bust
The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently apprehended a 58-year-old man and eight others on charges of drug trafficking in the state.
Dr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, the Edo State Commander of Narcotics, made the announcement during a press briefing in Benin City. He stated that the suspects were arrested in various locations known for drug-related activities.
Among those detained is Musa Muhammed, a grandfather from Bauchi State, who was found in possession of 280 grams of cannabis sativa, 35 grams of Loud, and 1.4 grams of Colorado.
Notably, 17-year-old Anna Agbona from Edo State was also arrested with 25 grams of Tramado.
Other individuals taken into custody include:
- Ebere Anthony, 55, from Delta, with 1.5 kilograms of cannabis sativa;
- Gift Oliseyenum, 31, also from Delta, possessing 74 grams of cannabis sativa, 45 grams of Loud, 2.5 grams of Colorado, and 4.7 grams of methamphetamine;
- Boniface George, 27, from Delta, who had 195 grams of cannabis sativa;
- Muzamilu Mustapha, 28, from Katsina, found with 40 grams of Loud and 80 grams of cannabis sativa;
- Faustina Peter, 27, and Chucks Odili, 36, both from Delta, possessing 35 grams of Loud, 10 grams of Colorado, and 0.8 grams of methamphetamine;
- Julius Enebuli, 42, from Delta, with 1 kilogram of cannabis sativa, 65 grams of Loud, and 15 grams of Colorado.
Ofoyeju commended his team for their efforts in combating drug trafficking and emphasized that the agency remains committed to ongoing investigations and the prosecution of those involved in drug-related activities.
“The arrests and drug seizures underscore the vital role of law enforcement and the need for community involvement in reporting illicit activities,” he said.
