Nigerian Air Force Targets Bandits in Airstrike
Local sources have confirmed that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted an airstrike on a large group of suspected bandits in Dogon Dawa, situated along the Niger-Kaduna-Zamfara border.
The operation was reported by journalist Bakatsine, known for his coverage of conflict and security issues in Nigeria’s North-West region. In a post on X on Monday, he stated that the airstrike occurred as the group appeared to be assembling to plan future attacks, leading to the deaths of multiple suspected bandits.
Reports indicate that over 200 motorcycles were present at the location during the operation. Some individuals who survived the airstrike, reportedly with injuries, fled into the forests between Shadadi and Ma’undu via the Mangwaro axis.
Bakatsine commented on the strike, stating, “Local sources confirmed that a Nigerian Air Force airstrike targeted a large gathering of bandits in Dogon Dawa, along the Niger-Kaduna-Zamfara border.” He added that the operation represented a significant impact on bandit activities in the region.
As of this report, the Nigerian Air Force has not released an official statement regarding the airstrike, and the casualty figures remain unverified.
