Nigerians struggle to acquire passport in UK [VIDEO]
Nigerians in the United Kingdom are expressing frustration over delays and disorganization at a passport intervention center in Manchester. Many applicants are reporting long wait times, with some arriving as early as 9:00 a.m. yet still waiting without assistance by 11:30 a.m.
Oluomo, a Nigerian from Derby, shared a video on social media highlighting the situation. He criticized the management of the passport intervention exercise, emphasizing that many attendees took time off work, traveled significant distances, and paid fees for passport services.
Oluomo described the experience as indicative of poor planning, organization, and communication from the authorities overseeing the exercise. He urged for a more efficient system that respects the time and dignity of Nigerians living in the UK.
“Passport intervention programs need to be better organized,” he said. “It’s unacceptable that applicants face unnecessary delays when accessing services they have already paid for.”
In his remarks, Oluomo stated that the current situation does not reflect the treatment Nigerians deserve and called for improvements to the process. He concluded by asserting that a shift away from outdated practices is necessary to better serve the needs of Nigerians in the UK.
