NLO sanctions Campos FC Chairman over intimidation of match officials

NLO Sanctions Campos FC Chairman Following Allegations of Misconduct

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has imposed sanctions on Campos FC Chairman Patrick Osuji after he allegedly intimidated match officials and assaulted the secretary of the Imo State Football Association ahead of a scheduled league match against OISA FC.

The league reported that Osuji instructed his players not to participate in the match, demanding a change of officials without valid justification. As a result of these actions, the match was ultimately called off.

The NLO condemned Osuji’s behavior, stating it violated the principles of sportsmanship and fair play expected at the grassroots level.

In accordance with league regulations, OISA FC has been awarded the match, receiving three points and three goals. Additionally, Campos FC has been fined N500,000, which must be paid before their next league fixture.

Both Osuji and another Campos FC official, Nnadozie, have been suspended indefinitely from all NLO activities while the disciplinary committee prepares its final decision.

The sanctions are effective immediately as communicated by the NLO.
