KANO, Nigeria — Akanni Elijah has officially joined Barau FC, a club in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), according to a report from DAILY POST.
The midfielder signed a one-year deal with the Kano-based team, seeking to make an impact in the upcoming season.
Elijah has previously played for Katsina United and Enyimba, where he was part of the squad that secured the NPFL title for the 2022/23 season. Over his three years with Enyimba, he made 62 appearances and scored six goals for the nine-time NPFL champions.
His experience is expected to be an asset for Barau FC as they prepare for the upcoming league competition.
