Oyo State Police Recover Stolen Vehicle in Gombe, Arrest Suspect
Men of the Oyo State Police Command have recovered a vehicle stolen from the state and found in Gombe State.
The vehicle was reported stolen on July 29, 2026, in Ibadan, Oyo State. A suspect, identified as 21-year-old Daniel Chinada Obidiukwu, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Olayinka Ayanlade, Public Relations Officer for the Oyo State Police, confirmed in a statement on Thursday evening that Obidiukwu was apprehended in Gombe State while in possession of the stolen vehicle.
Ayanlade detailed that preliminary investigations indicated Obidiukwu allegedly stole the vehicle and attempted to transport it to Gombe for resale to an unsuspecting buyer.
Following the suspect’s arrest, the vehicle was recovered and is now in police custody as evidence. Authorities continue to investigate the crime, looking into potential accomplices and additional circumstances surrounding the theft.
Ayanlade also noted that once investigations conclude, the suspect will face charges in accordance with the law.
