Pedestrian Killed in Ogun State Traffic Accident

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) has reported the death of an unidentified pedestrian involved in a collision along the Imowo-Ibadan road heading toward Ijebu Ode.

According to information obtained by DAILY POST, the accident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Sunday when a Toyota Coaster bus struck the pedestrian, who was attempting to cross the road.

Babatunde Akinbiyi, TRACE’s public relations officer, indicated that the pedestrian did not look both ways before crossing the street. The incident resulted in significant traffic congestion as the bus obstructed the roadway.

Akinbiyi also stated that TRACE officers, alongside police personnel from the Obalende Division, were swiftly dispatched to the accident scene to manage traffic and conduct rescue operations.

“TRACE operatives assisted in transporting the presumed deceased to an OGSAS ambulance, and the body was later taken to the General Hospital mortuary in Ijebu Ode,” the statement noted.

Following the incident, traffic has since been restored, and the bus was removed to the Police Area Command in Igbeba for further investigation.
