Kano State Police Arrest Woman for Alleged Homicide
Rogo, Kano State — Police have arrested Bilkisu Sani in connection with the alleged killing of her husband, Hafizu Gausu, in the Rogo Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday around 7 p.m. in the Katsalle neighborhood of Rogo town. A local resident, identified only as Kazagi, stated that Bilkisu raised an alarm about her husband’s death. When neighbors arrived, they discovered Gausu lying in a pool of blood with head injuries.
Kazagi reported that residents contacted the police, who arrived to investigate and subsequently took the body for examination.
According to residents, Gausu had recently become engaged to another woman and was planning to marry her as a second wife. This situation reportedly resulted in ongoing disputes between him and Bilkisu, who opposed the marriage.
Law enforcement officials have identified Bilkisu as the prime suspect in the case. Gausu was laid to rest on Saturday morning, following Islamic burial rites.
