Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Ogun State Police Command successfully rescued a kidnapped victim and neutralized two suspects during an operation on Wednesday, as part of their ongoing fight against kidnapping and violent crime.
The incident was detailed in a statement from police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi. According to the statement, the victim was abducted on June 11, 2026, in Ogbe Village, located in the Obafemi-Owode local government area.
Following the report of the abduction, the police promptly mobilized their anti-kidnapping unit, deploying intelligence and tactical resources aimed at securing the victim’s release and apprehending the perpetrators. Additionally, police recovered evidence from the scene, including a single-barrel gun, an expended cartridge, a mobile phone, and cash amounting to 2.2 million naira, believed to be linked to criminal activities.
“The successful operation highlights the effectiveness of the intelligence-driven and proactive crime-fighting strategies employed by the Ogun State Police Command,” Babaseyi said, commending the efforts of the officers involved.
