Police rescue abducted 60yr old man in Delta as suspects flee
Agbor Police Division, in collaboration with forest guards and local security personnel, successfully rescued a 60-year-old man unharmed after a kidnapping incident in Alisime Village, Delta State. The suspects fled the scene as authorities arrived.
The rescue operation took place on September 4, 2026, around 6 p.m., following intelligence gathered from an earlier report about the abduction. The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the events in a statement issued from Warri.
According to SP Edafe, the police operatives engaged the kidnappers, who reportedly escaped into the nearby bush, possibly suffering gunshot wounds. During the operation, officers recovered one mobile phone and an ATM card from the scene. The area has since been cordoned off, and a manhunt for the fleeing suspects is underway.
