Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” Surpasses “Waka Waka” on Billboard Charts
Nigerian singer Burna Boy has achieved a significant milestone with his latest collaboration, “Dai Dai,” featuring Shakira. The song has now surpassed the iconic “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” by Shakira and Freshlyground, becoming the highest-charting World Cup song in history.
This week, “Dai Dai” rose 25 positions to reach number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, the track peaked at number 3 on the Canadian Hot 100 and is currently vying for the number one position on the UK Official Singles Chart.
In related news, Billboard has announced the discontinuation of its World Digital Song Sales chart, with the final issue released on June 27, 2026. This chart had previously showcased many commercially successful songs from regions including Nigeria, Asia, the Caribbean, and South Africa. Notable Nigerian artists, such as Wizkid, Mr Eazi, and Rema, have previously topped this chart.
