Traffic alert: FRSC diverts vehicles on Kaduna–Zaria highway
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced a temporary traffic diversion on the Kaduna–Zaria section of the A2 highway, effective Sunday, September 6, 2026.
The diversion will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at DK825, Kwaranza Village, near the intersection with the Kaduna–Kano railway line. This action is necessary to facilitate an inspection of the railway bridge beams being constructed as part of the Kaduna–Kano Rail Modernization Project.
During this period, motorists will be directed to use one lane of the dual carriageway, while FRSC personnel will manage traffic flow at the affected area. The FRSC plans to implement warning signs, cones, and diversion markers to assist drivers and minimize disruptions.
Motorists are encouraged to adhere to all traffic signs and instructions provided by FRSC personnel. The Corps has advised drivers to reduce their speed, refrain from overtaking, and exercise caution when navigating the diversion.
The FRSC emphasized the importance of safety, stating, “Safety remains a collective responsibility. Drive safely and obey traffic rules.” The Corps has also expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding regarding the temporary traffic arrangements.
To avoid potential delays, motorists are urged to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes where possible.
