Transfer: Dennis seals move to UAE club, Al Jazira
Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis has signed with Al Jazira, a club in the United Arab Emirates, after transferring from Turkish team Göztepe. The announcement regarding the 22-year-old’s arrival was made via Al Jazira’s official account on the social media platform X.
“The wait is over! Officially: Al Jazira Club completes the signing of the young midfielder Anthony Dennis and registers him as a resident player,” the club stated.
Dennis began his professional journey with Göztepe, joining the club from HB Academy Abuja in January 2023. After starting with the U-19 team, he was promoted to the first team, making his senior debut on January 27, 2024, in a match that ended in a 1–1 draw against Çorum in the TFF First League.
In May 2024, following Göztepe’s successful promotion to the Süper Lig for the 2024–25 season, Dennis extended his contract with the club until 2027. Throughout his tenure at Göztepe, he made 83 appearances across all competitions, contributing five goals and two assists.
