Transfer: Super Eagles goalkeeper joins Charlton Athletic on loan
Charlton Athletic has secured a loan deal for goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo from Wrexham, according to reports from DAILY POST.
Okonkwo, who is under contract with Wrexham for one more year, will enter free agency next summer. The 24-year-old has served as Wrexham’s starting goalkeeper since his transfer from Arsenal in September 2023, although his position was challenged towards the end of last season.
The arrival of Anthony Patterson, who joined Wrexham from Sunderland in a club-record deal reportedly worth around £8 million, has further relegated Okonkwo in the team’s hierarchy.
Charlton successfully outbid Bolton Wanderers to obtain Okonkwo’s services on loan.
