Troops foil terrorist attack, rescue 15 kidnap victims in Kebbi

Kebbi State Troops Rescue 15 Kidnapped Victims from Terrorists

Troops from Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued 15 individuals who had been kidnapped during an operation in the Marge community of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, Kebbi State. The incident was reported in a post on Sunday by crisis reporter Bakatsine via X.

The military launched the operation following credible intelligence indicating the presence of armed terrorists in the area. Upon arrival, the troops engaged the militants in a gun battle, which forced the attackers to retreat into nearby bushland, abandoning their captives.

Authorities reported no casualties among the troops, and all 15 victims were safely reunited with their families.

This rescue operation occurred less than 24 hours after another attempt was thwarted in Surimi, a border community between Kebbi and Sokoto states, where four individuals were rescued in a similar intelligence-led operation.

Operation FANSAN YAMMA has intensified intelligence-driven efforts across the North-West region, aiming to dismantle networks involved in terrorism and kidnapping while working to restore security in vulnerable areas.
