Military Rescues Four Kidnap Victims in Kebbi State

Surimi, Nigeria — Troops from Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA successfully rescued four individuals abducted by armed terrorists in Surimi, a border community situated between Kebbi and Sokoto states.

The operation took place on Friday, prompted by credible intelligence regarding the activities of armed groups in the Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Military officials reported that troops were quickly deployed to Surimi, where they confronted the attackers in a gun battle. Utilizing superior firepower, the troops overpowered the assailants, prompting them to abandon their captives and retreat into the nearby bush.

Following the engagement, the four rescued victims were safely returned to their families. Authorities indicated that no casualties were sustained among the troops during the operation.

This rescue is part of ongoing efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to combat terrorism and banditry, aiming to enhance security in the North-West region, particularly in vulnerable border areas.
