Troops rescue pregnant woman, three others in Kogi, Kwara operations

Troops Rescue Four Kidnapping Victims in Kogi State
KOGI STATE, Nigeria — Security forces conducted successful operations this month, rescuing four kidnapping victims, including a pregnant woman, in Kogi State and near the Kogi–Kwara border.
According to a report by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security analyst specializing in the Lake Chad region, troops from the 121 Battalion stationed at the Abocho Patrol Base rescued a female victim around 10 p.m. on July 7. The operation took place along the Abocho–Ajegwuwa–Ohuwda Road in Dekina Local Government Area. The victim recounted that she was abducted on July 5 from her home in Ajiyolo Community.
In another operation, troops from the 12 Brigade rescued a pregnant woman during a night patrol on July 8 at approximately 3:45 a.m. along the Jakura–Ogbagbo Road. The woman reported that she had been kidnapped on June 28 near Obajana Community, along with three others, but managed to escape after military efforts pressured the kidnappers to abandon their captives.
Additionally, troops at the Isanlu Patrol Base intercepted two more victims on July 8 during a patrol near Latta Community, located along the Kogi–Kwara boundary. The victims stated they were abducted while working on their farms in the Latta area of Patigi Local Government Area and taken to a kidnappers’ camp in the Chigogo Hills region.
All four rescued individuals received immediate care and were subsequently reunited with their families. The military has reiterated its commitment to ongoing operations aimed at curbing kidnapping and other criminal activities in the North Central region of Nigeria.
