Kebbi State, Nigeria — Troops involved in Operation FANSAN YAMMA successfully repelled a terrorist attack along the Wasagu–Ayu Road in the Wasagu Local Government Area on Friday afternoon. The operation led to the retreat of the assailants, who abandoned two motorcycles during their escape.
The incident was reported by crisis journalist Bakatsine on his social media platform. According to Bakatsine, the military promptly responded to credible intelligence indicating that suspected terrorists had blocked the road.
During the engagement, the troops encountered intense gunfire but managed to force the attackers to withdraw. Security sources noted that the military pursued the fleeing individuals in an effort to neutralize the threat or prevent any regrouping, although no further contact was made during the chase.
This skirmish is part of ongoing military operations aimed at enhancing security and restricting the movement of terrorists in Kebbi State and the broader North-West region. Military authorities have increased intelligence-led operations focused on disrupting criminal activity in the area.
