Two Passengers Abducted on Plateau State Road
BARKIN LADI, Plateau State — Two passengers were abducted on Friday night after suspected kidnappers blocked the Bokkos-Barkin Ladi Road in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. when troops from Sector 4 of Operation Enduring Peace were alerted to the situation, according to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama. Upon arrival, the troops discovered that the assailants had obstructed the road and stopped a vehicle driven by Kollog Dakwan. The attackers reportedly took two passengers from the vehicle.
In response, the troops initiated a search of the surrounding area in hopes of locating the kidnappers and rescuing the victims. However, their initial efforts did not result in any contact with the suspects.
Security forces are continuing their search for the abducted individuals and are taking measures to apprehend those responsible for the attack. Increased patrols and surveillance operations have been implemented along the road and in nearby regions to deter further incidents.
This latest incident has heightened concerns regarding the safety of major roads in Plateau State, where kidnapping and other criminal activities have posed significant challenges.
Operation Enduring Peace is set to maintain its search and clearance operations in the area and is collaborating with local residents to gather intelligence that may assist in rescuing the victims and capturing the kidnappers.
