Three Arrested in Connection with Gwaram Town Homicide
BAUCHI, Nigeria — The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended three individuals linked to the alleged murder of a man in Gwaram Town, located in the Alkaleri Local Government Area. The arrests followed a significant breakthrough involving a motorcycle belonging to the victim.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, the suspects were taken into custody during an ongoing investigation into a homicide reported at the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026.
The first suspect, Muhammad Umar, also known as “Jijji,” was arrested on June 19 while he was riding a motorcycle identified as belonging to the deceased. His arrest led to the identification and subsequent capture of two additional suspects: Usman M. Gidado, 45, and Danladi Yakubu, alias “Pagaj,” 35, both residents of Gwaram Town.
Police officials stated that the motorcycle belonging to the victim was recovered during the operation.
“The suspect was arrested in possession of a motorcycle belonging to the deceased victim. Information obtained during interrogation aided in identifying and arresting two other suspects linked to the incident,” Habib said.
The suspects have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further inquiry, while the recovered motorcycle has been retained as evidence.
