Warn South Africa there will be consequences for Nigerians killed – Lawyer urges Tinubu

Activist Lawyer Calls on President Tinubu to Address Violence Against Nigerians in South Africa

Aloy Ejimakor, an activist lawyer and Special Advisor to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has urged Nigerian President Bola Tinubu to take a strong stance against the South African government regarding recent attacks on Nigerian citizens.

Ejimakor emphasized the need for Tinubu to convey that there would be significant repercussions if a Nigerian is harmed by South African mobs.

In a statement titled “Dear Black South Africans, Especially the Zulu,” Ejimakor criticized what he termed “afrophobia” towards fellow Africans, describing it as shameful. He reminded South Africans of the historical solidarity shown by other African nations during the fight against apartheid, noting that Nigeria played a key role in supporting leaders like Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki.

“Before you raise your hand at another black African living in South Africa, remember that South Africa was liberated from oppression and apartheid with the help of the entire continent,” Ejimakor stated.

He further acknowledged the sacrifices made by several African nations, including Zimbabwe and Zambia, in the struggle against apartheid.

Ejimakor called upon South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to take immediate action to address the violence. “The rest of black Africa is watching closely and asking how fast you can step up and stop this terrible situation. The buck stops at your table,” he asserted.

He concluded by urging President Tinubu to issue a stern warning to the South African government, stating, “There will be hell to pay for any Nigerian lost to a South African mob.”
