The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, extended his congratulations to Spain for its victory over Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final on Sunday. In a post on his verified X account, Sowore drew parallels between Spain’s victory and his ambitions for the upcoming 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
Spain secured the championship with a narrow 1-0 win against the defending champions, Argentina. This victory marks Spain’s second World Cup title, having previously won the tournament in 2010.
In his message, Sowore stated, “It happened as I predicted it. The World Cup final I foretold… came to pass. Spain defeats Argentina. The same way we will defeat Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Congrats, Spain.”
His remarks come as he prepares for the 2027 elections, emphasizing his intention to challenge the current administration.
