First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged for renewed commitment and collective action to eliminate malaria, emphasizing the need for strengthened prevention efforts and expanded access to treatment.

In a message delivered on World Malaria Day 2026, Tinubu reiterated the critical importance of protecting public health and accelerating progress towards eradicating the disease.

Addressing this year’s theme, “United Against Malaria,” she highlighted the necessity for sustained collaboration, increased domestic funding, and innovative strategies to tackle emerging challenges, including drug resistance and unequal access to healthcare.

Tinubu called upon governments, health organizations, and communities to enhance life-saving interventions and ensure that vulnerable populations receive adequate support.

“Let us strengthen prevention efforts, support life-saving interventions, and ensure that every community, especially the most vulnerable, has access to the materials needed to prevent and treat malaria,” she stated.
