2026 World Cup: FIFA appoints referee for Argentina vs Spain final
FIFA Appoints Slavko Vinčić as Referee for 2026 World Cup Final
FIFA has announced that Slavko Vinčić will officiate the 2026 World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina. This high-stakes match is set to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Vinčić will be assisted by Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič, both serving as assistant referees. Jordan’s Adham Makhadmeh has been designated as the fourth official for the encounter.
This final will mark the fourth match that Vinčić has officiated during the tournament. The Slovenian referee previously oversaw group stage matches featuring Brazil against Morocco and Jordan against Algeria. Additionally, he officiated the Round of 32 match between Mexico and Ecuador, where he issued a red card to Ecuador’s Piero Hincapié under the anti-discrimination protocol known as the “Vinícius Law.”
