Otti sad as US-based medical doctor dies during free medical outreach

Governor of Abia State Mourns Untimely Death of Medical Expert
Abia State Governor Alex Otti expressed his condolences following the unexpected death of Dr. Uzoma Nwaubani, a medical professional, who passed away after a brief illness.
Dr. Nwaubani had recently returned from the United States to participate in a free medical outreach organized by the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) in Abia State. Reports indicate that she experienced a medical emergency and was rushed to the hospital, where efforts by a medical team to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.
In a statement issued on behalf of the state, Governor Otti highlighted Dr. Nwaubani’s commitment to her community. “She had returned from the United States with her husband and daughter, a final-year medical student, to provide her medical expertise free of charge to citizens of our dear state,” he said. “This sacrifice underscores her compassion and dedication as a medical practitioner.”
Governor Otti extended his deepest sympathies to Dr. Nwaubani’s family and loved ones, as well as to the ANPA community.
He also commended Dr. Nwaubani’s family for their decision to continue with the free medical outreach despite their loss, emphasizing his administration’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing the health of the state’s residents.
