Akwa United, Godswill Akpabio Reach President Federation Cup Preliminary Round
UYO, Nigeria — Akwa United and Godswill Akpabio FC have advanced to the preliminary round of the President Federation Cup after securing victories in their respective semifinals.
Akwa United defeated Heaven’s Race Academy 4-0, while Godswill Akpabio edged out Palm Syrups 4-3 to secure their spots in the final of the State Federation Cup.
The championship match is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at the Uyo Township Stadium.
Akwa United aims to redeem themselves following a missed opportunity for promotion in previous seasons. The club has a history of success in the State Federation Cup, having claimed the title in 2015 and 2017.
In contrast, this will mark Godswill Akpabio FC’s first appearance in the final.
