Paris Saint-Germain Edges Bayern Munich in Thrilling Champions League Semifinal
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a narrow 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal on Tuesday night at Parc des Princes.
The match, widely anticipated as a crucial showdown, delivered an exhilarating array of goals. Bayern struck first, with Harry Kane successfully converting a penalty to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
PSG quickly equalized when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia found the back of the net. Joao Neves then headed PSG into the lead, but Bayern’s Michael Olise appeared to level the score just before halftime. However, the hosts were awarded a penalty, and Ousmane Dembele converted, restoring their advantage.
In the second half, PSG extended their lead with goals from Kvaratskhelia and Dembele. Bayern fought back with strikes from Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz but were unable to complete the comeback.
The teams will meet again for the return leg at Bayern’s Allianz Arena next Wednesday.
