Former Chelsea Defender Backs Declan Rice for Arsenal Captaincy
Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has endorsed Declan Rice as a potential captain for Arsenal, should current captain Martin Ødegaard depart the club.
Cundy, who spoke on talkSPORT, praised Rice for his defensive skills and ball control. “Defensively, he’s a monster. When he goes forward, he carries the team. He’s brilliant and in control,” Cundy stated. He also suggested that Rice might become England’s next national captain.
Ødegaard’s future with Arsenal remains uncertain, with speculation about a possible move at the end of the season. However, it has yet to be confirmed whether the Norwegian international will remain at the Emirates Stadium.
