Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has expressed confidence that Arsenal will secure the Premier League title, surpassing Manchester City in the race.
After Arsenal’s decisive 3-0 victory over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, Rooney remarked that he believes Mikel Arteta’s team will maintain their form and avoid dropping any more points. In contrast, he anticipates that City may encounter setbacks in their remaining matches.
Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, Rooney stated, “I think Arsenal will win the league. I felt this after Man City beat Arsenal. I sensed it might have been in Arsenal’s heads, having to go to Man City and losing in the cup final to them.”
He added, “But I think being level on points after that City defeat, along with a more favorable fixture schedule, gives Arsenal the advantage. I could see City slipping up in one or two games.”
