Four ‘Shilla’ gang members arrested with offensive weapons in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested four members of the Shilla gang in its crackdown on violent crimes in the state. 

 

The spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 said the suspects were arrested with offensive weapons. 

 

“The Adamawa State Police in collaboration with Sister Security agencies had on the 3/12/2024 extended the continuous fight against violent crime to Northern zone of the state and luckily dislodged and disconnects crime network connecting part of Mubi North and South local government areas,” the statement read.

 

“The combined operation of police attached to Mubi North/South and sister security agencies apprehended four (4) suspects with offensive weapons.” 

 

He identified the suspects as Adamu Halidu, 22, a resident of Yelwa Mubi North, Ahmed Ibrahim, 23, a resident of Lukuwa ward, Mubi North local govt, Sa’adu Haruna, 24, a resident of Tashan Gyela, Mubi South and Ahmed Haruna, 23, a resident of Nasarawo, Mubi South local govt area.

 

“To stem violence crime and sustain peace in those areas, the Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), directs for discreet investigation and diligent prosecutions of the suspects,” the statement added.
