Osun Sector Command of FRSC to Deploy 555 Personnel for Eid-el-Kabir Festival

Osogbo – The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Osun Sector Command will deploy 555 personnel statewide during the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival. Corps Commander Sunday Tayo Adebayo made the announcement in a statement from the Sector Public Education Officer, Agnes Ogungbemi, on Friday.

In addition to personnel, the operation will include three ambulances, two roadside clinics, one tow truck, and 15 patrol vehicles. Adebayo stated that these measures align with directives from FRSC headquarters to enhance traffic management during the festive season.

The operational activities will take place from May 25 to May 31, 2026, as part of the week-long initiative to manage vehicular movement throughout the holiday period.

“This season will be full of activities,” Adebayo said. “Our mission is to ensure safety on the roads and effectively manage traffic during the festival.”

He emphasized the FRSC’s responsibility in clearing obstructions and addressing common causes of road traffic crashes, which impact the security and well-being of citizens. Adebayo called on motorists to adhere to traffic regulations and cooperate with Corps personnel.

“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility,” he noted, urging media partners to help disseminate safety messages to communities and public spaces.

He concluded by stressing the importance of combating unsafe driving behaviors, including speeding and overloading, to reduce preventable accidents on the roads. Collaborations with other agencies will also be part of the operational efforts during this period.
