NAF bombs terrorist hideouts in Sambisa, fighters reportedly killed

Nigerian Air Force Intensifies Counter-Terrorism Operations in Borno State

The Nigerian Air Force has escalated its counter-terrorism efforts in Borno State, executing a series of air strikes aimed at terrorist hideouts within the Sambisa Forest area.

This development was announced in a press statement released on May 26, 2026, on the official Nigerian Air Force website.

According to the statement, air assets from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI conducted precise strikes on identified terrorist camps and logistical facilities in Biramiri, located in the Gezuwa region of Borno State. These actions were informed by Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance reports.

The Nigerian Air Force reported that the operation resulted in the destruction of significant facilities utilized by insurgents, with several fighters reportedly neutralized during the coordinated attacks.

The statement further indicated that ongoing air offensives have significantly disrupted the activities of terrorist groups in the Sambisa area, limiting their movement and access to secure locations.

The military emphasized that these operations are part of a broader strategy under Operation HADIN KAI and involve collaboration with other security agencies to apply sustained pressure on terrorist networks throughout the North-East region.

“The coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralized several fighters, further crippling the operational capacity of the insurgents,” the statement concluded.
