‘Igbos have given a lot to Lagos economy’ – Rapper Illbliss

Rapper Illbliss Calls for Greater Inclusivity Among Nigerians
Nigerian rapper Illbliss recently addressed the importance of welcoming non-indigenous residents in various states, urging citizens to avoid inflammatory comments directed at these communities.
During an appearance on the podcast Outside The Box, Illbliss highlighted the contributions of the Igbo community in Lagos, emphasizing their significant role in the state’s economic development.
“The Igbos have made substantial contributions to the Lagos economy through trade and commerce. I often wonder what this city would look like if every Igbo person were to leave,” Illbliss stated. He expressed concern over comments suggesting that non-Lagosians should return to their home states, calling such attitudes troubling.
Illbliss lamented the ongoing issues of tribalism and religious intolerance in Nigeria, despite decades of coexistence. “We should be more accommodating of one another. Unfortunately, we continue to face challenges related to tribal, ethnic, and religious divisions,” he remarked.
The rapper also reflected on Nigeria’s unity, questioning whether the nation might have been better off as separate entities given its current socio-political climate.
