DSS, forest guards intercept suspected ISWAP medical supplies in Borno

DSS Intercepts Medical Supplies Intended for ISWAP Fighters in Borno State
Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS), in collaboration with forest guards, have intercepted a substantial consignment of medical supplies believed to be destined for fighters affiliated with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State.
The operation took place in Kaga Local Government Area, according to a post on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama. The intervention was executed along a route thought to be utilized by insurgents for the transportation of supplies through forested regions.
Sources indicate that the recovered items include pain relief medications, anti-malaria injections, antibiotics, and other essential medical materials. These supplies are believed to support fighters operating in the field.
Makama noted that the materials were likely intended for ISWAP members who sustained injuries during recent military engagements in the North-East. He also reported that those involved in the transport of these items attempted to convey them in small quantities to elude detection by security forces.
The intercepted supplies have been taken into custody for further examination, and investigations are underway to locate individuals connected to the supply network.
