Kaduna Police Rescue Three Kidnapped Victims, Arrest Five Suspected Informants

KADUNA, Nigeria — The Kaduna State Police Command successfully rescued three individuals who had been held captive for 40 days and apprehended five suspected informants believed to be affiliated with a kidnapping syndicate.

The police announced the operation’s success in a statement released Saturday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan. The victims were located during a coordinated security operation involving officers from Fushin Kada and the Divisional Police Officer in Hunkuyi.

Hassan reported that the operation was the result of thorough intelligence gathering and strategic surveillance, which led police to a suspected hideout of the kidnappers. Upon noticing the approaching security forces, the suspects fled, leaving the victims behind.

The rescued individuals were identified as Ekechikwu Omale, Ummi Salisu, both from Kudan Local Government Area, and Pastor Daniel Tanko Bawa from Tufa Village in Niger State. Following their rescue, the victims received medical care at a police clinic before being reunited with their families.

The investigation also yielded the arrest of five suspected informants. Preliminary findings suggest that these individuals provided critical information and logistical support to the kidnappers. During questioning, the suspects reportedly confessed to their roles in the crime.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad praised the professionalism and cooperation among security agencies that contributed to the successful operation. He emphasized the command’s commitment to combatting kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state and urged residents to continue providing timely and reliable information to assist law enforcement.
