Borno State Authorities Detain Suspected Kidnappers, Seize Weapons
Troops from the Joint Task Force North East, operating under the codename Operation HADIN KAI, have detained five individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities in Borno State. The arrests occurred during a well-coordinated operation informed by credible intelligence along a known criminal corridor in Magumeri.
According to a statement released on Friday, the operation resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, along with magazines and ammunition. Authorities indicated that the detained suspects are linked to a syndicate responsible for terrorizing local civilians.
The suspects are currently in custody and are cooperating with security agencies in ongoing investigations. These inquiries aim to identify additional members of the kidnapping network and dismantle their support systems in the region.
