Spain Coach Luis de la Fuente Praises Marc Cucurella’s Transfer to Real Madrid
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente expressed his support for Marc Cucurella following the defender’s transfer from Chelsea to Real Madrid. The Spanish club officially announced the agreement on Monday.
Cucurella has signed a contract with Real Madrid that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium until June 30, 2032.
Ahead of Spain’s World Cup opener against Cape Verde on Monday evening, De la Fuente remarked on the positive implications of the transfer for both Cucurella and the Spanish national team.
“We celebrate if it’s good news for Cucu,” he stated. “If something else comes up during the tournament with another teammate and it’s good news for him, then we celebrate that, too. What is good for one of my players is good for the team as a whole.”
De la Fuente emphasized the importance of player satisfaction, asserting that the happiness of his players positively impacts the entire team’s morale.
