Tunisia’s national football team has parted ways with head coach Sabri Lamouchi, marking him as the first manager to be relieved of his duties during the ongoing 2026 World Cup.
Lamouchi’s dismissal follows a disappointing 5-1 defeat to Sweden in the team’s opening match of the tournament.
The Tunisian Football Federation announced that Mondher Kebaier will take over as interim head coach.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on social media, stating, “Tunisia head coach Sabri Lamouchi has been sacked after defeat on World Cup opening game against Sweden. Plans are under way to appoint Mondher Kebaier as the new national team coach on an interim basis, Federation confirm.”
