Comedians Call for Arrest of Person Threatening Colleague
Nigerian comedians Broda Mike and Mario Wazobia are urging authorities to arrest a member of the Ratel group identified as Veryblackman, also known as VDM Brother, following alleged death threats against their colleague, comedian DeeOne.
The request comes after Veryblackman posted an Instagram video over the weekend, in which he threatened DeeOne, stating he intended to confront him violently. In the now-deleted video, he declared, “Any day I see DeeOne, I’m not caping, I’m not joking. I don already carry am for my mind say that day na for police station I go sleep. Either I kpai am enter prison or I beat and punch him and sleep for police station. If I pkai am, I don know say that one na prison. But I know say inside the two, one must happen.”
As the video circulated online, it drew widespread attention and concern from various individuals, including fellow comedians. Wazobia took to Instagram, emphasizing the severity of the threat. “You and DeeOne no get anything to do with each other. He doesn’t talk about your mother or father. You just on camera dey threatened his life,” he said, warning that DeeOne does not take public threats lightly.
In a separate video, Broda Mike echoed these concerns. He pointed out that Veryblackman had repeatedly threatened DeeOne, noting that such threats were especially serious for someone in the public eye. “DeeOne, get this boy arrested. He has threatened your life,” Mike urged. “I don’t know if this group called Ratel are cultists. That’s a public threatening, he’s not hiding it.”
Veryblackman is reportedly an associate of VeryDarkMan, a figure known for tensions with DeeOne. The situation remains under scrutiny as calls for intervention by law enforcement grow louder.
