FUTA Teaching Hospital Commences Staff Capturing Exercise, Assures Seamless Transition –

FUTA Teaching Hospital Initiates Staff Capture Under IPPIS

The management of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Teaching Hospital has launched a comprehensive staff capture initiative under the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). This exercise aims to accurately document inherited personnel and establish a strong administrative framework for the new institution.

Officials from the IPPIS Directorate, under the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, are conducting the exercise. Its primary objective is to integrate qualified staff into the federal payroll system and ensure adherence to established government protocols.

Hospital management emphasized its dedication to a transparent and organized transition process. They assured affected staff that all necessary measures are in place to address any concerns arising from the initiative.

In a statement, the hospital expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for approving the institution’s establishment, describing the decision as a significant milestone in enhancing tertiary healthcare, medical education, and research in Nigeria. The management also commended Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his support in the development of the teaching hospital.

Additionally, the management acknowledged contributions from local leaders, including the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, traditional rulers, community figures, healthcare professionals, labor unions, civil society organizations, and media practitioners for their support in bringing the project to fruition.

Chief Medical Director Prof. Olusegun Ojo highlighted the staff capturing process as a vital aspect of the hospital’s development strategy. He noted that the initiative would lay the groundwork for effective personnel management, payroll administration, and the institution’s long-term growth.

“The establishment of the FUTA Teaching Hospital marks a significant achievement, but we must first create a well-structured and documented workforce to realize the hospital’s goals,” Prof. Ojo stated. He explained that the exercise is designed to ensure all inherited staff are properly integrated into the federal payroll system in accordance with existing regulations and guidelines.

The Chief Medical Director reassured workers who have not yet been captured of management’s commitment to resolving all outstanding issues through the proper government channels, emphasizing the importance of due process and verification.

“We understand the concerns of affected staff and are dedicated to ensuring that every legitimate employee is captured and integrated,” he said.

Prof. Ojo urged staff members to exercise patience and cooperation during the process, stressing that accurate personnel documentation is critical for the institution’s smooth operation and future growth. He also encouraged the public to rely on official communications from the hospital management to avoid misinformation that could lead to unnecessary anxiety.

The management reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness while pledging to establish a solid foundation for the FUTA Teaching Hospital as a leading center for excellence in healthcare delivery, medical education, and research in Nigeria.
