Kebbi APC stakeholders criticise Senator Maidoki, dismiss victimisation claims

APC Stakeholders Criticize Senator Maidoki Over Security Comments

Kebbi State stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have publicly expressed their discontent with Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, who represents the Kebbi South Senatorial District. The criticism centers on remarks made by the senator regarding security and political issues in the region.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the stakeholders accused Maidoki of issuing misleading comments and failing to represent his constituents adequately since taking office. They highlighted a concerning lack of verifiable constituency projects, particularly in areas affected by insecurity, including the Zuru Emirate.

The group emphasized that despite Maidoki’s stated concerns about security in Kebbi South, his actions have not aligned with those concerns. They noted his absence from several consultative meetings organized by government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders aimed at addressing security challenges.

Additionally, the stakeholders rejected claims that Maidoki was denied an APC ticket, asserting instead that he was not a member of the party when the primary elections took place.

The statement also addressed remarks allegedly made by Maidoki regarding the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III. The stakeholders cautioned against involving traditional institutions in political disputes, reaffirming the Emir’s standing as a respected leader supported by the people of the Zuru Emirate.

The APC stakeholders urged Senator Maidoki to redirect his efforts toward providing effective representation and meeting the needs of his constituents, rather than engaging in political controversies. They reiterated that the citizens of Kebbi State are likely to support leaders who demonstrate a commitment to community service and development.
