Nigerian Police Arrest DJ Following Threats Against President’s Son
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a DJ for making threats against Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
The arrest follows the release of a video two days prior, in which the DJ, known as DJ Chicken, stated that President Tinubu would not win re-election in 2027 and threatened to kill Seyi Tinubu if the president was victorious.
After the video went viral, rumors regarding DJ Chicken’s arrest began circulating on social media. Content creator Tunde Perry confirmed the arrest during a livestream on Thursday night.
“DJ Chicken stated in his video that Tinubu can’t win the next election, fully aware that President Tinubu is the only Yoruba candidate in the 2027 presidential race. He also claimed that he would kill Seyi Tinubu if the president won,” Perry said. “The president and his son are not directly responsible for this arrest; it was those close to the presidency who acted.”
The investigation is ongoing.
